What is a cool thing to do with dead ipod headphones?

my headphones are starting to die. I have had the headphone curse for years. i get a pair of good headphones, and they last months. in this case, i had them for about a week. i have been treating them well, wrapping them up when im done, etc. but they still die. so what is something cool to do with them when they are dead? (don't say 1$ speaker plz.)
