What are some cool ways to design an empty wall?

So i have an empty wall in my room and i hate how its so boring. I live in an apartment and my mom wont let me paint it so thats out. Are there any cool things i could do? I considered hanging pictures but thats really un original.|||ok well still i no that u said that hanging pics are "unoriginal" but they're still cool, im redecorating my room, and so im going 2 get like a blank canvas and just be unique and paper mache it with like flowers(since that's the theme of my room) but u do what u want

How to keep cool during a hot and crowded wedding?

I'm a bridesmaid next weekend %26amp; the wedding is in atlanta. We'll be outside from 11 am -2 pm taking pictures, talking to the family etc. I want to know how I can remain cool and not be all sweaty, wilted and bright red by the time the wedding starts at 2. Our dresses goes to the floor, have built in corsets %26amp; do not breathe whatsoever. How do I keep from becoming smelly and uncomfortable?|||Yes, bring a little fan - either a pretty little hand held one or even a battery operated one (since you'll just be socializing I'm sure no one will mind!)

Also make sure you stay OVER hydrated. Drink tons of water and it will definitely help.

Don't over do the makeup and hair products either because that will just make for more layers to make you uncomfortable - and your makeup will probably just sweat off anyway.

Every once in a while, find a shady spot and just relax for a bit. Don't overexert yourself!|||I was going to say bring a hand fan, one of those little plastic ones from the dollar store, but it would look weird standing up in front of everyone fanning yourself. I'd say just grin and bare it and then after the ceremony... whip out the fan!|||yeah try a hand fan|||Fan and keep a little hankerchief or napkin in your purse. You can also get those little travel deodorants or wet wipes.

What are some cool ways of taking pictures of yourself for myspace?

I wanna take some like cool %26amp; unique pictures for myspace, any ideas? Im going to my friends tomorrow so we're prolly going to take some pics.|||Your question is similar to one I answered yesterday haha.

This may sound weird but I used to think up ideas for myspace pictures (my defaults were always the coolest haha). Me and my friends would think up all sorts of themes like rock star, super nerdy, zombie, horror, favorite cartoon characters, pirates, goth, making fun of myspace poses, ect. It usually took an hour or two to set up the background and get our costumes together but we had a lot of fun.

Hope that helps :)|||you could both be standing next to earth other, and both draw a heart on your hand, and then cover each others eyes?

What is a cool way to present these dishes?

We are looking for some cool ways to present these dishes:

-Orange Chicken on rice

- Salad

- Shrimp

- Lava Cake

One of our dishes is rasberry sorbet. We are serving it in a cup thats made of just ice. (Its going to melt quickly but there is only a small amount of sorbet). We are looking for creative ideas like that to present the dishes listed.|||Sorbet: bake toile cookies, form over a custard cup. Brush inside with apricot jam when cool. Fill with sorbet and serve.

Ornge chicken: saute orange slices in butter and a little brown sugar. Arrange over chicken on rice. (Prepare the rice with chicken stock and orange juice instead of water.)

Salad: Layer salad on a platter instead of tossing. Lettuce first, (Any lettuce but iceberg.) Sliced yellow and red tomatoes, sliced cucumbers next, a few floret radishes, and some crumbled bleu chesse or feta.

Shrimp: arrange on skewers, grill, basting with butter/olive oil.

Lava cake: serve on your best china, a coulee of raspberry on the plate, sprinkle with confectioners sugar, and a few fresh raspberries.|||Orange Chicken: Put on glass plate and add a orange slice next to it.(more flavor)

Salad: Put in a original salad bowl Mix salad dressing in. Sprinkle fresh Parmesan cheese on top

Shrimp: Cocktail bowl with sauce in the middle and the shrimp hanging over the edge

Lava Cake: Buy some silver streaming sticks and put them on top of the cake

How do I cool down a room when I cannot mount a new air conditioner or run a hose out the window?

There is a new baby in my house and, as a result, the air conditioner stays warm (and its Miami). We have central A/C but it can't be put to a cold setting because of the new born. How do I get a single room to cool down if there is no way to mount an A/C into the wall and the windows can't handle the hose that you normally feed out of them with the portable units.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated!|||Can't you just shut the vent to the newborn's room? That would certainly work. Another easy way is to install ceiling fans to circulate the air. Or, you could purchase ice and place it in a bowl in front of a fan. It seriously works. It may cost you alot, but it works.|||ceiling fan and an oscillating fan as well.

another tip keep the room clean neat (airy) and the blinds closed during the day. Turn the fans on and it should help a little. Try a dehumidifier also. Good Luck %26amp; God bless your new baby.|||In general infants/toddlers has higher tolerance on cold temperature than grownups. They often sweat eventhough we adults are already under our blankets. We stayed in Singapore, and switching the A/C is a must.|||Go to your nearest wal mart and pick up a portable fan that plugs in. my baby sister had one on her room and it stayed cool, but not cold. you should try it!|||get a dehumidifier, you can get one where you empty once a day.

What is the fastest way to cool down a pizza?

There is a local competition around that claims if two people finish one of their pizzas in a certain time its free. What i've heard from people who have tried it, is that the amount of the pizza isn't that hard to consume, they just serve it to you right out of the oven. I've talked to the manager trying to figure out how to cool off the pizza. He said there are 3 legal ways to cool it down. Any ideas? (no outside materials are aloud)|||if they give you water than get the ice from that on put it near the pizza or ontop. might make it a bit soggy, but depends if it matters to ya. :]|||Since you said no outside materials are allowed, I'll assume that you can't use a fridge, or ice, or anything.

The only tip I can think of would be to just rip up the pizza into tiny pieces so more of the pizza can come into contact with the air, so it'll cool off faster. Or you can eat the crust first and eat the rest of the pizza in layers? Like, eating the cheese, then the part under the cheese afterwards.|||so two of you can participate in the competition right. then hold the pizza with a piece of cloth towel which you carry to wipe your mouth and both of you tear the pizza apart, this makes way for the air to come in contact with the pizza, then punch it flat there by making more of the hot air inside the pizza to escape. this way the pizza also becomes flat and bite into your mouthful pieces and while chewing keep on blowing air from your mouth as you would do to ease pain. this way i think you can win the competition too! ALL THE BEST :)|||1). Blow on it

2). Run around with it on a pizza pan in circles with your right arm held high in the air

3). Bring an ice chest and stick it in there.|||Blow on it =)|||i just stick mine in the freezer for a minute or two

How can I make my bedroom cool and unique when I live in an apartment?

I live in an apartment (duh) and I want an awesome bedroom, but we can't paint the walls. Does any body have any ideas what I can do to make it more cool and awesome? I'm not sure if we can buy anything, but if we have to buy something to make my room better, than it has to be under at least 75 dollars or so.|||Depends what you are into. If you're into music put CDs on the wall. You can get them cheap like the CD-RW ones and just stick them on you wall in patterns.

How do I keep my room cool in the summer?

I have one of those window fans with the two fans one that could take in and one to take out air or both do in or out. I'm not really sure the best way to keep my room cool. It's a small room on the second floor.|||Hey this is how I do it:

1st- Make your fan take air out during the day and keep your room dark.

2nd- have another fan to circlate the air in your room also.

3rd- at night take only cooler air in if its really cool than keep your window just shut during the day that will help big time. otherwise just stick with 1%26amp;2 when nights are still too warm.|||Depends on how warm the outside temperature is, and weather or not you have central cooling that is running.

If the outside temp is lower than the inside temp, then you would want to have the fans blowing in. If you are using central cooling I would not have any windows open, You're better off just trying to cool yourself with a fan blowing directly on you, this will give you the feeling of being almost 10 degrees cooler...

You're best option would be to get a window A/C unit and installing that in the window. It could cool your room considerably. These run anywhere from about $150 on the cheap end to about $500 on the higher end.|||get light-blocking curtains to keep your room dark. find them in walmart. get your room cool at night by taking in the air. then close the window and keep it dark during the day.|||If your windows are east or west facing......... east windows should be covered in the morning and west windows covered in the afternoon and evening hours. This will block out the sunlight/heat. With a fan, in the cooler hours you should have it blowing inside, bringing in the cooler air, opposite for the afternoons. In the evenings, after the sun is down, bring in the cooler air.

How much cooler can a geothermal system cool my house?

If it is 90 degrees or more outside how low a temperature can a geothermal system get down to? Will it be as cool as a traditional air conditioning unit?|||A properly sized system is not dependent upon the temperature of the "source" for it to work well. An air to air air conditioner, an air source heat pump and a ground source heat pump (geothermal) system should all work if sized properly. What is different will be the amount of equipment and energy required. A ground source heat pump will be far more efficient and use less energy than other possibilities but may cost considerably more. As a side benefit you can get heat.

hope that helps :)|||I haven't used photoshop in a while but here's how I did it to the best of my memory. Create a new layer and add a white line in it. This will represent the "core" of your beam. Add a tiny bit of gaussian blur to make it fuzzy. Duplicate that layer and color it the color you want your beam to be. You might have to mess the blend mode (or whatever it's called in photoshop) so the white will still be somewhat visible underneath. Add slightly more blur this time. Keep repeating this process until the beam looks how you want.

Got a cool advertisement for me to mimic?

I'm in a visual design class and one of my projects is to find an print advertisement and mimic it using various design tools. I'm having trouble finding a cool ad to mimic, so I'm wondering if anyone could send me links to ones that you think are cool. I'll give best answer to whichever print ad I use. Thanks!|||Hmm. Well, I dunno if you mean advertisement exactly, or logo. If it's logo, go for FAmous Stars and Stripes. I like that logo. Even if it isnt the logo you're looking for, logos often lead to awesome advertisements that you might like to use. Try it out and see what you find.

Any suggestions for a cheap and effective way to cool off my bedroom on hot summer nights?

I have no air conditioner in my apartment and my fan just blows around the hot air. I leave my bedroom window open at night too. I could never understand why during the winter nights, if you leave your window open, the cool air from the outside quickly replaces the hot air inside, while in the summer, the hot air inside is not quickly replaced by the cooler outside air. Why is that? Thanks!|||I use a dual-window fan. It's a fan specifically suited to fit in the window. It has two fans that can either be set to blow in or out. You can set both fans to blow in or out, or even have one blow in while the other blows out. This creates a circulation in the room.

You'll also want to put some dark curtains in the windows that receive direct sunlight. Your place heats up fast once the sunlight penetrates the windows and enters the room.

Here's a link for the fan. Lowe's also carries a cheaper model. See any homestore, Walmar, Target, Kohl's, etc.. near you for options:

I would suggest looking for a quiet one though. Oh yea, They can be coastly at first. i payed 75 for mine, though that is not bad.|||No suggestion.|||Here are a few things that have worked for me, take a box fan and place it directly in the window pointing in. It will take the cooler air outside and blow it in. Another thing that can be a hassle, but really works, before bed put some cool water in your bathtub and dip your sheets in the water and wring them out before putting them on the bed damp, but the evaporation of the water really cools you down. I use a tub to dip sheets on campouts all the time, but a water proof mattress pad is highly recommended so the moisture doesn't get down inside your mattress.

The low-cool setting in my evaporated cooler doesn't work?

Before it worked perfectly fine all of a sudden i doesn't; it only works in High-cool. It still has the same motor nothing has changed. Im I ganna have to replce the motor or the A/C control?|||Yep, fireguy's correct. It is most likely a burned out motor winding. You can safely continue to use it on high speed or go shopping for a new motor.|||the most probable answer is that there is a loose connection on the motor or part of it burned out. a two stage motor will have electrical leads for both high and low. frequently one will work but not the other. check both leads with a electrical tester. if one is burned out an replacement motor is only about 70 bucks.

How can you keep the house cool during the hot summer months cheaply?

We have a pretty large house in Long Island, NY and even though summer hasn't even really gotten to its peak, the temperatures are getting almost unbearable. Can anyone help me find ways to keep the house cool without spending a lot of money?|||Shade trees are a long term way, but it takes patience. Consider something fast growing and plant to shade windows/doors openings. Open windows during the night when the air is cooler - shutting them in the morning when temps start to rise. Have room-darkening shades on the windows that get direct sun. Awnings on windows. Consider a deck with a gazebo type roof above some windows. Set it to a temperature, so that when you are not home, the AC does not run. Most programmables allow you to set the day and the time for this. Additionally, set it to a cooler temperature approximately 30 minutes before you typically arrive home. Lastly, also enter a program for when you are typically sleeping and aren't as bothered by the temperature. Properly using the programmable thermostat has worked wonders on my energy bill during the past two summers.

What are cool accessories for a contemporary bedroom that is black, white, and blue?

I have a contemporary bedroom that has black furniture, white bedding, and light blue walls. What are some cool accessories that I could use to complement those colors?|||Try some rattan accents- like a rattan wrapped vase, wicker baskets, something very textured and natural.

Also, I love that colour scheme- try going for some nice creamy white pottery, like vases, bowls, that sort of thing. If you had a bookshelf in the room covered in white pottery, or off white or baby blue, it would be a stunning looking collection. You could also put some baskets ont he shelves to keep things looking tidy- baskets are a secret weapon for hiding clutter.

Also, if you don't have cushions, get some! Feather filled ones are nicest, they don't really lose their shape- all you have to do is fluff them up. You can go online and find some cool patterns or designs, and print them onto iron on transfer paper. Then iron them onto some cushion covers, and you have custom made, gorgeous, totally YOU cushions. Or, you can go online and find some patterns/pictures and print them as stencils. Get a large canvas, and use the stencil to make some DIY artwork for your walls.

I also think a few darker colours like a rich chocolate brown would probably work well in the room. I myself am partial to buddah statues or busts- they work well with a very calm colour scheme, and what can I say- I just love that chubby buddah!!

Also, i go to wallpaper stores and check for end of roll deals on fancier wallpaper. Then, I cut it to a suitable size, and paste it to a wall (where artwork would usually go). Then I use moulding or trim for a hardware store to "frame" my wallpaper artwork. You could probably find a nice toile or even maybe some bamboo or seagrass wallpaper to work with.

good luck and have fun!

How to keep a husky cool on the summer?

I am planning to get a husky sometime and was wonder how can I keep them cool during the summer? I do understand the responsibility and the amount of the exercise required. in this day and age they could be poisoned, shot, or stolen.

when supervised, yes kiddie pools work

shade works

same as you

also daily combing for dead hair works|||You can do the kiddie pool thing, but it becomes quite a hassle over time. 1) there will be dog hair in the pool constantly and you'll have to change the water pretty much every other day so your dog doesn't smell/isn't filthy. 2) you probably won't want to have to dry off your dog so much before it comes back into the house. 3) I've heard about a lot of huskies not liking water. Some do, some don't. You're husky might do better just playing in the kiddie pool every now and then just for fun rather than using it to just make it through the heat.

The best way to keep your husky cool during the summer is to shave it. You can take him/her to your vet or local groomer and they'll do the shave for a pretty decent price and it's totally worth it. Trust me, you don't want to shave a dog on your own with no experience - the first few turn out to be hack jobs!

So, I would suggest shaving your dog. It will help him/her greatly and you won't have to worry so much.

Hope I helped :)|||i have a friend with a husky and she bought a kiddy pool for him and she puts ice in it every morning over the summer. however i wouldn't just leave them outside because it will get WAY too hot for that unless there is shade. if your creative at all build them a dog house and put air conditioning in it!!!! :) (fan's facing outside will also work to get the hot air out of it)|||It depends on where you live. Does anybody know a link or website that will show me how to build a cool lego car from simpple parts like a 4x4 square or 2x4 rectangle i have most of the regulaur parts just not special parts. Please help.|||Well, you could search on Youtube or on Google to find an easy way to build a car, or you could take my advice. Well, I you don't have a set of wheels, then you can't make a car. If you have two pairs or wheels that are on a 2x2 plate, that would be fine. If you have the big individual clunky wheels, then it would be harder. Either way, just stick the wheels onto the 2x4, but only partially, otherwize the wheels would be too close. Add a 2x1 plate in the empty space on the wheel plate, then stick a 2x2 brick on top of that to connect the 2x4 and the 1x2 together. I live in a very old house which for some reason makes it very hard to install air conditioning (it has something to do with the thin walls) so any cool air we have comes from fans. This however does not do the best job of keeping the house cool. Is there anything I can do to keep my house cool when it's hot?|||How about a window unit?|||I live in a mobile home, 1991. My Mom suggested that I go to home improvement store (Lowe's/Home Depot) and get a roll or two of aluminum insulation, the kind that is flat, silver on both sides. Cut it to fit your windows, install on the side of the house that gets the most/hottest sun. Works good.

|||If you can pull the hot air up through the ceiling, into the attic and out, that would help. Whole house fans have the louvered opening on the highest ceiling or more often at the top of the stairway. Then there's a fan in the attic. The louvers open, the fan sucks the hot air from the house, into the attic and outside. Down stairs, in the lowest portion of the house you open a few window to draw in cooler air.

At the very least you should have supplemental attic ventilation especially in such an older home. Newer home are moving to a different system altogether.|||try covering your windows with a blanket or try a fan|||Call your local hardware store or even Walmart and ask then if they have air cooling units that go in the middle of the room or on the counters. I have seen such units

Or you can buy a block of ice and put it on a towel in front of a fan and blast away!:)

You could have an attic fan put it to suck the heat out.|||open the windows in the evening when it is cool and put fans in the windows pointing in ( to draw in the cool air from the outside)

keep the windows shut during the day.|||Look into the new duct less systems that have come out in the last few years I have installed several in old homes with excellent results|||with fans you can either push cool air into the house from the shaded side, or push the hot air out. open windows on both sides, but not all the way, just a few inches to let a breeze through. If it is 2 story or more, open the windows upstairs a little more, to let out the hot air, and just a bit downstairs to let some air in. you have to create a draft, though, or it wont work. Let cooler air from the shaded side of the house in, and let hot air out. If you live where it is not humid, a "swamp cooler" or evaporative cooler will work. Then again, you have to keep a draft going, or it will just get stuffy inside, some air has to be let out. Or you can do it the old fasioned way and hang burlap sack in the open windows, and keep them wet, so the air that comes thru them will be cooled by evaporation. this was done in Scottys castle in tunnels under the castle. This is in the Mojave Dessert, That s how they did it before electricity Even those misting lines that you can buy help a lot, hang them outside near your windows, Or even keeping your sidewalks outside wet with a hose helps a lot to cool the outside air. I used to have a pipe along the peak of my houses roof, with holes all along it that created a water curtain all around my house, and cooled the roof, as well as the outside air, as it fell all around my house off the roof. (my water was free, tho, it came from a creek)|||Try portable air conditioners|||Do you own it or rent it, and where do you live? If you life in the southwest, then a swamp cooler is pretty cheap to install (relative to AC) and will work well. If you don't, well, the expensive answer is blow in insulation into the walls, replace the windows with modern windows, and put in air conditioners (central or window). If you only use 1 or 2 rooms during the day, you can do that for only those rooms.

If you're renting, well, window AC and just pay for it, because you won't be there long enough to get your money back from improvements.|||keep windows and blinds shut all day, open in evening|||keep the house dark, if there is a breeze open the house up, if you can get the house insulated that would help a lot, try not to cook too often or wait till it's late when it will be cooler to do your cooking...that's all i got for now|||Try to keep you blinds down and closed. it will be a little cooler til 1 pm. The other thing we sell here in New Zealand is a mobile Air Conditioner. This is a thing that looks like a Dehumidifier on castors. It has a fan at front, and a tank at rear. You fill the tank with cold water, ice etc. The fan blows cold air out. Really useful gadget. We sell them at hardware and electric stores. Not cheap, but cheaper than air conditioning. Good Luck!|||block out all sunlight.......and no vigorous activities inside the house..........

Why is it important to cool down properly after exercising?

I always hear to cool down properly for 5-10 mins after doing exercise but to be honest through these near 4 months of exercising i rarely ever do a proper cool down. I usually just go and shower right after or i sit down and sip some water. What is the importance of properly cooling down and how does it benefit me if i were to start doing a proper cool down?|||It has something to do with the way your muscles assist the return of venous blood to your heart. Muscle contractions during exercise take some of the work away from the heart. If you stop all at once, it basically drops all that extra load on the heart. If you "cool down", you are gradually returning the additional blood pumping task over to the heart without shocking it. Stopping without cooling down can result in dizziness or fainting.

However, I would imagine it depends on your heart health too. I also exercise often without a cooldown... but it probably isn't a good habit.|||Interesting...for once!

What cool ways can you think of to cut government spending?

As you probably know, 拢4bn worth of Nimrod planes are being scrapped as part of the government spending cuts ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-122鈥?/a> ).

As it is now considered cool to save money by destroying existing projects irrespective of how much money has already been spent, what cool ways can you think of to cut government spending, not worrying one bit about how much money has already been poured into it?|||I agree with legalizing pot and taxing it pretty hefty. That's not a cut, but that will bring in some serious money.

Let's also cut out welfare. Natural selection ftw. That may seem contrary to legalizing pot, but if you wanna play, you gotta pay!|||I think prisoners should farm and weed and hoe and plow and grow their own food. If every prison in America had their own farm -- we would see immediate benefits. Physical labor is good for humans on every level, for starters. It's good for the soul to be outside and work up a sweat. Plus the tremendous health benefits of eating real food, picked right off the vines -- would benefit the taxpayers on another level -- reduced medical care.

We would save a bundle in several areas... psychological, medical, and groceries.

I also agree with the other posters about legalizing marijuana, but I also think all drugs should be legalized. Personally I don't do drugs of any kind, but it is an ugly fact that the guns and violence and murders surrounding the illegal drug wars contribute to border problems. If drugs were legalized the black market would dry up overnight. And yes, we should tax it.

2) Scrap the House of Lords and replace it with an elected Senate of about 200.

3) Cut back on the number of junior ministers at Westminster.

4) Slash the number of councils, and get rid of the urban unitary authorities. Transfer non-essential services (eg: libraries, car parks) to town/parish/community councils and then cut the number of main councils (county/district/metropolitan/unitary) to 65 in England (from about 250), 22 in Scotland (from 32), eight in Wales (from 22) and four in Northern Ireland (from 26).

5) Get rid of elected mayors, and don't bother with elected police commissioners.

6) Sack all council diversity officers, climate change executives and EU compliance staff.

7) Sack all council "chief executives" - what the f*ck do they actually do for their obscene salaries?

8) Get rid of the "overseas territories" (eg; Gibraltar, Falkland Islands) and "crown dependencies" (Isle of Man, Channel Islands) - offer them either full integration within the UK (basically, give them an MP at Westminster and subject them to the same taxes as the rest of the UK) or full independence. Colonialism has no place in the 21st Century.

9) Pull out of Afghanistan - it's unwinnable. In fact pull out of NATO and become a neutral state instead.

10) Legalise all drugs (not just cannabis) and make them a state monopoly.

11) Legalise prostitution and brothels, and tax them.

12) Get rid of most (in fact preferably all) of the "Mickey Mouse" degree courses (like media studies) - they're a waste of time and money.

13) Axe all our weapons of mass destruction (Trident) - it means spending billions on weapons we'll never use.

14) Cut back on the number of road signs - it all adds up having that many...

What are practical ideas to cool a ten gallon saltwater aquarium?

I just started a ten gallon sw aquarium. It is a little too warm. What is the best way to cool it with spending little or no money? The heater is completely off.|||That's a tricky one. Salt water aquariums (especially small ones) are really quite difficult to start up and keep going. You said you just started your aquarium. As I'm sure you know, the cycling process for a saltwater tank takes a lot longer than in freshwater, and it will be quite some time before you can think about introducing fish. If this is new to you, try this site: http://www.fishlore.com/SaltwaterAquariu鈥?/a>

Anywho, during the cycling process temperature shouldn't be neglected entirely, but it isn't as important as when you have fish to keep healthy. My point here is that if your aquarium is a little too warm in the cycling process it isn't the end of the world. Perhaps you could use the cycling process as a time to save up for proper equipment to heat/cool the aquarium?

As for other methods such as frozen water bottles, I think they may do more harm than good. If you had a 1000 gallon aquarium it may be worth a shot, but I think the risk of cooling a 10 gallon aquarium too quickly would far outweigh the benefits, as sw fish especially are very sensitive to changes in temperature or other parameters. Putting a fan near the aquarium may help lower the temp slightly by evaporative cooling, but that's about it. Good luck with your new aquarium!!|||take some water bottles

Sailfin Dragon|||leopard, gecko, beardie, ball python, kingsnake, childrens python, corn snake,|||Stay away from caimans as someone suggested. I personally don't agree with keeping them as captive pets - unless you are extremely experienced. And by that I mean someone with 20+ yrs dealing eth reptiles and specifically Crocodilian species. Someone like myself or example, who has 10+ yrs dealing with snakes and some lizard species has no business taking on a caiman. They're cute looking when they're little but even the dwarf species grow to be way too large for the average person to care for it properly.

I would also advise against a Chameleon unless your have previous experience with them. They're very sensitive to living conditions that are anything but ideal. Prone to illness and stress - not for an average or inexperienced herper.

I just bought a Brazilian rainbow boa and she's beautiful. They have iridescent coloring that sparkles with all the colors of the rainbow when positioned under proper lighting. They're pretty nippy when little but from what I've heard, with proper handling and care they should calm down with age. My little girl is still only a few months old though. They do also require very humid environments but IMO they are worth all the time and money and care it takes I keep them in an optimal environment.

If they don't tickle your fancy then maybe look into a really cool morph of a more common species, for example the snow morph boa constrictor or a blue eyed Lucy ball python or a mystic potion ball.

Also the woma pythons are cool.

If you want a really cool snake for observation and you're ok with not handling it much or at least very minimally then go for an emerald tree boa or a green tree python - again though experience is a must for these guys. If you have experience with cham's and you really want a show stopper go with a Nosy faly panther cham - they have the most amazing colorings you will ever see on a reptile. Like I said though - lots of experience is needed as these guys are very difficult to keep in perfect conditions in addition to keeping them totally stress free.

Good luck with whatever you choose

What cool effects can I give to my 35mm film before having it developed?

I bought a Polaroid camera yesterday at a little thrift shop that takes 35mm film. It's not a very cool vintage camera or anything, but it was $10 with four rolls of unused film, so i thought it might be fun to play with. I've done some experiments on disposable cameras that have turned out great, but I'm not sure what I can do to this one without breaking it. Any ideas?|||Hold sunglasses in front of the lens. Tumble dry a roll of film.|||Find a relatively optically good piece of glass that you can hold in front of the lens of the camera. You can then do things to the glass such as smear it with Vaseline and sprinkle dirt on it, or make scratches in the glass, or put a fine mist of brown paint on the glass, just whatever you can think of to get some different and interesting looks to your photos without ever touching a computer! It is always more fun and rewarding that way!

Be sure the film that came with the camera is C41 color process. If it is anything else, you will not be able to get it developed at any local quick type automated lab. The film will have to be sent out to a pro lab if it is anything other than C41 process. It will state on the film canister what type of film it is and process type.

steve

ADD: To the answerer above me. Yes, I have seen lots of little 35mm point and shoot Polaroid cameras. They were probably made by another company for Polaroid. I saw a purple one just the other day in our local Goodwill store.|||Aside from fogging the film by letting light into the camera, (very hit and miss) you can't do anything really to 35mm film, or any film for that matter, before having it developed, without the use of a darkroom... and when I say darkroom I mean absolutely no light must enter, not just a dark room.

I thought Polaroids were mostly instant films that didn't require lab processing... I guess I stand corrected.

EDIT: Thanks Steve, yes never actually seen a 35mm Polaroid. Had an instant camera back in the 80s though. Yes, of course you can shoot through tights (!) and use gels and other things to modify the shot, but without a darkroom you can't cyanotype or similar, and I wouldn't leave cross-processing to just any lab.

Jack russels are very, very, very hyper dogs.

You need to think about your personality, and find a dog that has the same temperment. The biggest problem in our society today with pets becoming euthenized, is people who make this mistake. They get a dog that is "not for them" and they lose control and just don't care anymore. No one wants to give a dog what it needs, if it doesn't fit into their schedule.

Also when your playing basketball, refrain from running too much, jumping is good, but not too much running. Do jogs instead.

Tony M|||Bring lots of water and drinks like Gatorade to replenish electrolytes.

Find a jersey or undershirt that is made of a "wicking" material. These pull moisture (sweat) away from the skin so more of it evaporates on the surface - keeping you cooler and more comfortable.

If there is any way you can bring anything to create shade - umbrella, tarp, even a white t-shirt you drape over your head between inning to keep the sun away - do so.

But most important is the fluids, you'll go through a lot and the more you keep yourself hydrated the longer you'll be able to stay in the game without tiring.|||Drink LOTS of water. Get a spritz bottle or a water bottle that has one of those pop- open tops to spray on your face and neck. Wet your shirt and hat with cold water. Actually try to sweat, ti cools down your body. Maybe put some ice in places like your hat or if your pants have pockets, let it sit there it will drip down:) Keep a pocket fan in your pocket if you have one. Bring a cooler fool of popsicles.

Good luck! Hope I helped!!

I know so hot out right?|||Being cool isn't as much as a big deal as getting dehidrated. Make sure to drink alot of fluids. How would you heat and cool a guest house that doesnt have the space for a regular unit?

I have a guest house that cant support a regular vented ac/heat unit. How would you heat and cool it? I am trying to avoid window units. Is there a third option?|||You could try using a ductless AC system. Some of them also come as a heat pump which will do AC and Heat both. If Natural Gas is available, you might want to consider having a nice gas fireplace installed. The Gas Fireplace would best suit an open concept type of guest house. If there are any long hallways leading to distant bedrooms, the fireplace wont work so well. Then maybe try using a few electric baseboard heaters. The ductless AC system is probably right up your alley though. Good luck.|||You can add a ceiling fan, they move the air up to draw out the heat and blow the heat down in the winter. They work in most climates.|||How about a packaged gas electric unit like you might see on a commercial building on the roof?

Their are smaller ones suitable for residences and are available in gas heat/electric cooling and all electric models.

It could mount on a pad at ground level and duct horizontally under the crawl space or up outside wall and into attic.|||I endorse docksrocks's suggestion.

Ductless mini-splits are perfect for your application.

ptac is a through the wall heat pump system

How to keep the fish cool in the classroom?

My mom has a 10 gallon tank with a couple of gold fish, in her classroom . On the weekends they cut the a/c off. So when she has come back to school on Monday a couple of the fish have died. Does anyone have a suggestion of how to keep the fish cool on the weekends?|||i have to agree with whoever said they are dying of starvation. Ive kept fish for many years in homes with no A/C...

If you really think that is the problem then try using a desk fan on low setting? Keep the tank in the shade or pull the blinds shut. Use a bubbling stone too.|||I don't think it would be an easy set up to try to keep the fish cool enough at the classroom. I say get a small container, about a gallon or so and transfer the fish to take home on the weekends. It may be a hassle but I can't think of a good way to keep water cool that is cost effective for keeping goldfish alive.|||Any chance of taking the fish home to a cooler place for the weekend?

Get a 5-gallon bucket with a tight-fitting lid. Fill the bucket half-full with water from the fish tank. Put the fish in the bucket, take them home, and let them stay in another tank for the weekend.

Reverse the process to take them back to school.|||I would say that they are rather dieing from hunger since they have to wait 2 days without food. I would suggest a automatic fish feeder. To cool of the fish tank she can purchase an air pump with an airstone to aerate the water.|||All things being equal, an air stone bubbling hard will cool the tank some. Also, the addition of 15 drops per gallon of hydrogen peroxide will hold the goldfish for 48 hours. together they may help.|||She could get a chiller.

How quickly should chocolate cool after placed in a candy mold?

I am using Wilton Chocolate melts in a double-boiler and what is the best way to cool the chocolate, in a refrig or slowly cool to room temperature?|||Once you pour melted chocolate into the mold, give it a few gentle but firm raps on the counter and it will smooth right out. You can either refrigerate, freeze or just let the chocolate harden at room temperature before unmolding. Once the chocolate has set up, you can invert the mold, and press gently on chocolate. The chocolate should just pop right out. But be careful of water, not to let any water to get into the chocolate, while it is melting or tempering, not even a drop, because it will ruin the entire chocolate.|||I have left them sitting out for a little bit just to ensure they are cooling properly w/ no air bubbles. And then once you are set with that, place them in the refrigerator for a little while. They cool faster and are easy to pop out of the mold.

Good luck with candy making. It is a fun hobby.|||You can let them cool overnight or you can put them in the fridge until just hardened, but don't leave them in for an extended amount of time. Excecc refrigeration makes the butterfat in the chocolate whiten and produces a whitish film on the surface of the chocolate. This isn't harmful and it doesn't taste any different, but it's not pretty either.

What are some cool ways to turn plain clothing into cool punkish-rockish clothing?

Thank you!|||Hi there! Punk rock is all about doing it yourself, taking pieces and really making them your own! If you're thinking about a top, I would take a pair of scizzors and make some slits on the sleeves, and maybe one in the back. Then you can take a few safety pins (maximum four) and pin it back together, while still leaving a few gaps! If you're talking about pants, leggings, or tights, I would definitely take scizzors and make about fifteen horizontal slits that are 3 to 4 inches wide all the way down the outer side of your leg! Pair that with some shiny black boots (doc martens are perfect!), mess your hair up a little and you're good to go!|||T Shirt Cutting.

http://www.craftycrafty.tv/2009/04/wedne鈥?/a>|||Splatter paint on it, rip it, spray it with bleach, cut it.

Just be creative =)|||=============================

How To Make Your Own Punk Clothes...

=============================

Step 1

Start with T-shirts. Just about any T-shirt can be turned into a punk T-shirt with a pair of scissors. Cut off the arms just below the arm hole seams. Snip away the neck hole just below the neck hole seam. Cut the border off the bottom. You can even cut some length off the bottom if you want your punk T-shirt cropped. Wear the tee by itself or over a ruddy tank top or long sleeved long john shirt.

Step 2

Fashion a skirt. Take a swath of material, scarf or tablecloth with an eye-catching pattern. Place one corner of the cloth at your hip while you wrap the rest of the cloth around your waist. Keep wrapping until the cloth runs out and secure the other end of the cloth with a safety pin at the hip. For a shorter skirt, fold the fabric lengthwise or cut it before you wrap. Wear with fishnet stockings and combat boots.

Step 3

Do up blue jeans. Run a pair of blue jeans through a dye bath, whitewash or both. Snip off the hems so the bottoms fray. Stitch or fasten several chains around the belt loops so the chain hangs down in graceful cascades. Sew on some silly patches with funny sayings, such as "Don't eat yellow snow." Couple the jeans with one of your tees and high top canvas sneakers.

Step 4

Jazz up a jacket or vest. Get some snap-on studs from a craft store and line them along the neck and front of the garment. Put some spiked studs along the shoulder seams. If the jacket or vest looks too new, throw it through a whitewash bath before you stud it up. If your vest or jacket is leather, you can also secure a sticker to the back with heavy duty washable glue.

Step 5

Modify the vintage. Take any vintage or thrift store clothing item and run it, too, through a dye bath or white wash. Form-fitting 1950s dresses, an old suit jacket or lace skirts that reach to your ankles are all great options. Heck, those are all great options you can wear at the same time. The vintage stuff looks best if you crumple it, ball it up or randomly wrap rubber bands around it before dying. This way the dye comes out uneven and really punk looking.

=============================

How To Make Your Own Rock Clothes...

=============================

Step 1

Alter a T-shirt to create different looks. Use your scissors to cut of the neck band for a wider, looser neckline. Trim 3 inches off the bottom hem to create a cropped top. On a V-neck T-shirt, cut off the sleeves to create a rough-around-the-edges, tough vibe to the T-shirt. To create a layering piece, cut slashes in the body of the shirt and wear it over another T-shirt or tank top.

Step 2

Customize jeans to create an aged look. Soak your jeans in a 2 gallons of cold water with 2 Tbsp. of bleach overnight. Wash them on their own in a washing machine and dry them. Use your scissors to cut 1/4 inch off of the cuffs of the jeans. This will allow them to fray more quickly. Ripped jeans also create a rough-and-tumble look. Decide where you want your rips placed. Clip a slit in that spot 1-inch long with your scissors. Grip the sides of your snip with both hands and tug until the rip is as large as you want it.

Step 3

Create tighter, more form-fitting jeans and pants. Turn the pants inside out and try them on. Carefully pin the cuffs and leg below the knees so that the leg fits more narrowly around the leg. Make sure that the cuff is wide enough to fit over the top of any shoe you wear with the pants. Take the pants off and sew 1/4 inch away from the pins along the outside of the pinned seam. Turn them right side out and try them on. If the seam fits properly, take them off, turn them inside out, and trim the fold so that there is 1/4 inch of seam left. Press seams and turn right side out.

Step 4

Splatter paint T-shirts, jeans or other clothing. Spread newspaper on your floor. Lay clothing on the newspaper. Pour fabric paint into small dishes. Using your paintbrush, carefully drizzle or spatter paint colors onto your clothing. Use one color at a time. Shake the paint on in short, controlled motions to minimize spatter on any other objects. Allow the paint to dry.

For an all-over effect, turn clothing over and repeat. Allow it to dry. Set fabric paint in place with an iron according to the instructions on the fabric paint container.

Step 5

Stencil silhouetted images onto clothing. Cut out a piece of freezer paper and trace your desired shape onto the paper. Carefully cut it out. Place the paper wax-side down onto the fabric and press with a hot, dry iron. The transfer should adhere to the fabric. Carefully daub on fabric paint in the stencil. Peel the stencil off. Allow the paint to dry and set the fabric paint in place with an iron according to the paint's instructions.
