How do I cool down a room when I cannot mount a new air conditioner or run a hose out the window?

There is a new baby in my house and, as a result, the air conditioner stays warm (and its Miami). We have central A/C but it can't be put to a cold setting because of the new born. How do I get a single room to cool down if there is no way to mount an A/C into the wall and the windows can't handle the hose that you normally feed out of them with the portable units.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated!|||Can't you just shut the vent to the newborn's room? That would certainly work. Another easy way is to install ceiling fans to circulate the air. Or, you could purchase ice and place it in a bowl in front of a fan. It seriously works. It may cost you alot, but it works.|||ceiling fan and an oscillating fan as well.

another tip keep the room clean neat (airy) and the blinds closed during the day. Turn the fans on and it should help a little. Try a dehumidifier also. Good Luck %26amp; God bless your new baby.|||In general infants/toddlers has higher tolerance on cold temperature than grownups. They often sweat eventhough we adults are already under our blankets. We stayed in Singapore, and switching the A/C is a must.|||Go to your nearest wal mart and pick up a portable fan that plugs in. my baby sister had one on her room and it stayed cool, but not cold. you should try it!|||get a dehumidifier, you can get one where you empty once a day.
