If anyone has ever played the original deus ex, than that's exactly what i'm talking about. (not nano-augmentation, mechanical) But even taking it out of the realm of science fiction, how cool would it be if we could augment people mechanically and symbiotically with machines? Like a cyborg kind of, but more in the realm of one leg, or one eye, or one portion of the body. So it's not like the terminator or anything. More like a super-powered prosthesis that's added for improving the body's already amazing natural capabilities.|||One already does that.
Oscar Pistorius is the fastest man with no legs, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Pisto鈥?/a>
We also have people who get artificial hearts, pacemakers, cochlear implants, and to a certain extent we also have powered prosthetics as well as artificial eyes.
We're not at the Six Million Dollar man level yet, but with the combats in Iraq and Afghanistan generating dozens of casualties missing an arm, a leg, or with impaired eyesight, hearing and so on, development of new prosthetics technology is far faster now than ever before.|||it is cool
I am augmented, wear eyeglasses and have implanted teeth
my wife has artificial knees and hearing aids
amputees have raced climbed and done almost all sports with artificial legs
paralyzed people can move computer arrows by thinking and devices measure their brain waves
Stephen Hawking one of the most Intelligent scientists in the world is totally paralyzed and uses a computer to speak
the military has all kinds of strap on boaster suits
stop Reading comics and pay attention to news reports.
a computer named "watson" beat the world's best Jeopardy " players.
